Greenwich PD Sergeant Cited For Investigative Work In Major Heroin Case

A veteran law enforcement official in Greenwich is earning accolades for his work battling the nation’s problem with opioids.

Greenwich Police Sgt. Rich Stook was recognized by the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut on Wednesday, as local and federal officials celebrated his work involving a heroin bust.

Last September, Stook, was promoted from detective to sergeant. He first joined the Greenwich Police Department in September 1997, when he served as an accident investigator and field training officer. He was assigned to the community impact section 10 years ago, before becoming a detective in 2009.

Police officials said that Stook was recognized for his “exemplary investigative work on a major heroin case while assigned as a Federal Task Force Officer.” During his time as a detective and investigator, Stook earned several accolades and he remains on the board of Directors for the Narcotics Enforcement Association of Connecticut. Stook is also a member of the honor guard.
